STUNT RIGGING COURSE LEVEL 1

Service Description

This 4-day intensive course has been developed for complete beginners with no previous experience or knowledge of stunt rigging. It is also suitable as a refresher for those with some rigging experience, as well as for anyone interested in pursuing a career as a stunt rigger. The course is also designed for stunt performers who may not wish to move into rigging professionally, but who want to better understand the methods & foundations of stunt rigging & strengthen their base knowledge. The course is also available to book as a refresher at a heavily discounted rate. To qualify, you must have attended a previous rigging course of a similar standard to the one provided at The Action House. The course is delivered by experienced instructors who work in the film & TV industry. Over the past 20 years, they have worked as performers on lines, as well as operating, designing, installing, and running stunt rigs. Please note, the course is predominantly a classroom-based stunt rigging course, with physical and practical elements included throughout. This course does not provide an official qualification, as no formal qualification currently exists for this area. Completion of the 4 days does not certify or justify competency. Attendees who complete the course will receive course completion status only. Successful completion may allow attendees to book onto Stunt Rigging Level 2, provided they have met the prerequisite requirements for logged rig hours & achieved the required pass mark on the written test. • Attendees must be 18 years or older and in good physical & mental health. • A full body stunt harness or martial arts harness is recommended. It is preferable to bring your own or borrow one from a friend. Harnesses will not be subjected to stress forces or severe shock loads. While bringing a harness is not required, it will be beneficial, as you will be putting on a harness and experiencing being on lines as part of the course. Equipment Requirements • A set of fit-for-purpose rigging gloves Optional Equipment • A set of Selma fids, which will be available to buy on the course • Line cutters or scissors Cancellation Policy • 8 days’ notice or more: 100% refund • 5–7 days’ notice: 50% refund • 4 days’ notice or less: no refund All cancellations are subject to a £75 processing fee. You may transfer your place to another person, it is your responsibility to arrange payment with them and their details but be supplied at least 72hrs before course start.
