STUNT RIGGING COURSE LEVEL 1

Service Description

A 4-day intensive course where the content has been developed for complete beginners with no experience or knowledge, as a refresher for those who have a little rigging experience and for those who would like to pursue a career as a stunt rigger. It has also been designed for stunt performers who may not necessarily want to get in to rigging but want to better understand the methods and foundations of stunt rigging and improve their base knowledge. Also available to book as a refresher with a heavily discounted rate, you must have attended a previous rigging course of similar standard to the one provided at the Action House. With experienced instructors who work in the film & tv industry, they have worked as performers on lines themselves as well as operating, designing, installing & running rigs over the past 20 years. Please note this is NOT a wire performance heavy course and is predominantly a classroom-based stunt rigging course that contains physical and practical elements. Also be aware this is not a course that gives any kind of official qualification (as no such thing currently exists) or justification of competency. The only thing that would be achieved at the end of the 4 days is course completion status and the ability to book on to Stunt Rigging Level 2 having met the pre-requisite requirements in terms of logged ‘rig’ hours and achieved the required pass mark on the written test. Attendee Requirements: • 18 years or older in good physical and mental health • Full Body Stunt Harness or Martial Arts Harness (It is preferable to have your own or borrow one from a friend. Harnesses will not be subject to any stress forces or severe shock loads. As well as operating you will be putting on a harness and experiencing being on the lines so bringing a harness, although not a requirement, will be beneficial). Equipment requirements: • Set of ‘fit-for-purpose’ rigging gloves • Notebook & Pen Optional requirerequirements: • Set of Selma Fids (will be available to buy on the course) • Line Cutters/Scissors Cancellation Policy: 8 days notice or more – 100% refund | 5-7 days notice – 50% refund | 4 days or less notice – No refund All cancellations will be subject to a processing fee of £75. If you find you need to cancel and it is less than 8 days notice, you may transfer your place to someone else but it will be your responsibility to sort payment out with them and their details must be supplied at least 72hrs before the start date.
