Service Description

As an introduction to fire burns and safety or as a refresher session for those who have done burns before, the session includes up to 3 burns per person. Covering single limbs and partials up to 1/2 fire burns (arms; legs & body without silicone mask), fire safety and safe practices when working in and around fire. With varying dressing options, DRY/PRE-WET burns will be covered where underwear is not soaked pre-burn or is dipped prior to dressing. IMPORTANT: All garments including fire resistant underwear (compulsory); fire suits (optional but not required); wet suits (optional but not required); waterproofs (optional but not required) and clothes to burn in (compulsory) are to be provided by you; the participant. We do have a limited supply of some underwear and will use silver suits as extra protection should they be required but generally no part of this will be provided by us so please be sure to order anything in time if you need it for the session. For fire resistant underwear, eBay is actually quite good for suppliers of underwear sets otherwise GPRDirect or DemonTweeks are very resourceful, both have online retail outlets.. Fire suits, wet suits and waterproofs are not compulsory but fire-resistant underwear is (CarbonX; Nomex; OMP etc). You must have at least one full set layer of fire-resistant underwear to participate, 2 sets are preferred (Compulsory; no underwear = no burn. Long sleeved top; bottoms; socks; gloves and hood, if you can, get 2 sets of underwear upsizing where necessary. Advisable not to buy 2 of the same size i.e. purchase 1 small and 1 medium set rather than 2 small sets. They will always come in handy further on in your career as safety layers or for burns you may perform). Hoods and gloves are recommended for this session as you will be riding lines whilst on fire. Gloves can be supplied if needed. Limited to 10 places, session timings are based on 7-10 participants. For between 4 and 6 participants the session times will be reduced based on final numbers and participants will be notified of final times prior to the session. The sessions require a minimum of 4 participants. If this is not reached 3 days prior to the sessions, then they will have to be cancelled and any monies paid will be refunded in full.
